Frontier Expands Its Fair Trade Certified Spice Line While Direct Partnerships With Sri Lankan Organic Farmers Yield Quality and Sustainability

Norway, Iowa (PRWEB) September 14, 2011

Frontier Natural Products Co-op? recently unveiled three new Fair Trade Certified ? organic spices as part of their ongoing commitment to cultivating socially responsible products. The newest additions to the line include whole cloves, ginger root powder, and cinnamon sticks. The company has been a pioneer in sourcing organic and sustainable spices, being the first national brand to launch Fair Trade Certified ? organic bottled spices in 2009.

?We are committed to providing ethical and sustainable sources of herbs and spices,? says Brett Karminski, senior brand manager at Frontier Natural Products Co-op. ?We worked closely with Sri Lankan growers to help cultivate these additional spices," he adds. Other Frontier Fair Trade Certified organic spices include whole black peppercorns, medium-grind black pepper, ground white pepper, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, ground nutmeg, and ground turmeric root.

As consumer awareness of the social impact of Fair Trade has grown, so has demand for Fair Trade Certified products. While Frontier was the first to offer Fair Trade Certified spices, it also sees first-hand the type of buzz these products create. ?Giving consumers the option to purchase Fair Trade spices is another way they can proactively support small growers and their communities around the world,? adds Karminski.

Fair Trade allows growers around the world to be paid fairly for their labor, ensuring safe and humane working conditions as well as eliminating forced labor and child labor abuses. Along with the social benefits, the Fair Trade farming practices are sustainable, leading to an overall healthier environment. The goals of Fair Trade fall directly in line with Frontier?s commitment to conducting business that is sustainable for people and the environment.

As reported earlier this year, Frontier Natural Products Co-op recently donated $ 25,000 to support an organic training center for the Small Organic Farmers Association (SOFA) in Sri Lanka. Completed in late 2010, the center has already conducted more than a dozen training classes, educating more than 120 farmers on sustainable cropping techniques such as composting, erosion control, and natural pest management. SOFA is a 2,043-member cooperative of small-scale, organic farmers.

Founded in 1976 and based in Norway, Iowa, Frontier Natural Products Co-op? offers a full line of natural and organic products under the Frontier, Simply Organic?, Aura Cacia? and Aura Cacia Organics? brands. Products include culinary herbs, spices and baking flavors; bulk herbs and spices; and natural and organic aromatherapy products. Frontier's goal is to provide consumers with the highest-quality organic and natural products while supporting and promoting social and environmental responsibility. Emerging On Line Retailer of Made in USA Products, USAB2C.com, Warns of Pitfalls in Congressional Economic Stimulus Package

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) February 4, 2008

The new congressional economic stimulus package designed to give American taxpayers $ 600 per person as a spending initiative is supported by USAB2C.com. USAB2c.com (America's Business to Consumers Inc.) has always trumpeted the need to keep American jobs growing and the best way to do that is to spend American dollars on American products.

According to George Hanos, Chief Operating Officer of USAB2C, "We have made it known to numerous politicians that the only real way the economic stimulus package will benefit America is to have a grassroots movement of people focused on spending the rebate only on USA manufactured products. Only the sale of made in the USA products will generate jobs for Americans and will keep that amount of capital in the United States where it can best benefit the country. If fellow taxpayers merely take the rebate and spend it at their neighborhood mall purchasing foreign made products, the financial benefit will be extremely limited."

Purchasing imported goods with these wind-fall rebates will continue eroding the American manufacturing base by exporting our capital to China and other third world low cost labor countries. In the case of Chinese goods, the money gets round tripped back to the US in the form of the Chinese government buying additional US treasury debt. A higher debt load means taxpayers will be sending a higher level of interest payments back to China. This negates the positive intention of the initiative. "The Chinese government will have effectively financed the rebates, receiving US taxpayer interest payments as a reward for funding the incentive," said Mr. Hanos.

The best way to utilize the congressional stimulus rebate money is to purchase American made products, thus using the money to truly bolster the American economy.

USAB2C has made available over 6,000 products, carefully screened and found to meet their stringent made in USA requirements. These items are available for purchase by logging onto their site, http://www.USAB2C.com.

Most recently, USAB2C has added to its breadth of products gourmet chocolates for Valentine's Day made in Pennsylvania, patriotic scarves made in New York, US Navy style pea-coats made in Massachusetts, woolen apparel made in Minnesota, baby and toddler accessories made in California and home goods made in Vermont.

"These new products and others have been added to expand our catalog beyond American made toys, tools, knives and wooden accessories. This will give the consumer a greater variety of options to choose from when spending their rebates and, thus, recycle the money back into the American economy, multiplying many times over the economic benefits of the rebate," Mr. Hanos stated.
