Frontier Expands Its Fair Trade Certified Spice Line While Direct Partnerships With Sri Lankan Organic Farmers Yield Quality and Sustainability

Norway, Iowa (PRWEB) September 14, 2011

Frontier Natural Products Co-op? recently unveiled three new Fair Trade Certified ? organic spices as part of their ongoing commitment to cultivating socially responsible products. The newest additions to the line include whole cloves, ginger root powder, and cinnamon sticks. The company has been a pioneer in sourcing organic and sustainable spices, being the first national brand to launch Fair Trade Certified ? organic bottled spices in 2009.

?We are committed to providing ethical and sustainable sources of herbs and spices,? says Brett Karminski, senior brand manager at Frontier Natural Products Co-op. ?We worked closely with Sri Lankan growers to help cultivate these additional spices," he adds. Other Frontier Fair Trade Certified organic spices include whole black peppercorns, medium-grind black pepper, ground white pepper, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, ground nutmeg, and ground turmeric root.

As consumer awareness of the social impact of Fair Trade has grown, so has demand for Fair Trade Certified products. While Frontier was the first to offer Fair Trade Certified spices, it also sees first-hand the type of buzz these products create. ?Giving consumers the option to purchase Fair Trade spices is another way they can proactively support small growers and their communities around the world,? adds Karminski.

Fair Trade allows growers around the world to be paid fairly for their labor, ensuring safe and humane working conditions as well as eliminating forced labor and child labor abuses. Along with the social benefits, the Fair Trade farming practices are sustainable, leading to an overall healthier environment. The goals of Fair Trade fall directly in line with Frontier?s commitment to conducting business that is sustainable for people and the environment.

As reported earlier this year, Frontier Natural Products Co-op recently donated $ 25,000 to support an organic training center for the Small Organic Farmers Association (SOFA) in Sri Lanka. Completed in late 2010, the center has already conducted more than a dozen training classes, educating more than 120 farmers on sustainable cropping techniques such as composting, erosion control, and natural pest management. SOFA is a 2,043-member cooperative of small-scale, organic farmers.

Founded in 1976 and based in Norway, Iowa, Frontier Natural Products Co-op? offers a full line of natural and organic products under the Frontier, Simply Organic?, Aura Cacia? and Aura Cacia Organics? brands. Products include culinary herbs, spices and baking flavors; bulk herbs and spices; and natural and organic aromatherapy products. Frontier's goal is to provide consumers with the highest-quality organic and natural products while supporting and promoting social and environmental responsibility. Circulatory Centers Adds Board Certified Doctor to New Atlanta Georgia Location

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 02, 2011

Circulatory Centers, a premiere practice specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins, recently opened a new location in Atlanta, Georgia. This brings the total number of Circulatory Center offices to 23 in five states ? including Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Connecticut.

Dr. Lisa Perez will lead all treatments provided in Atlanta. Dr. Perez moved to Atlanta in 2000 and was born and raised in Staten Island, New York. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina and she is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine as well as a member of the American College of Phlebology and North Fulton Chamber of Commerce.

The new Roswell location will provide treatment for large varicose veins and spider veins by offering non invasive, in-office procedures such as EVLA and sclerotherapy. Circulatory Center?s Registered Vascular Technicians perform duplex ultrasound studies on each patient in order to provide an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. As such, Circulatory Centers has been awarded accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories.

?As a physician, I have been impressed with the care and quality of treatment that I observed in working with Circulatory Centers. Their standards relative to patient care were consistent with my approach to practicing medicine. Clearly, they are a leader in their field and I felt that this is a great fit for me both professionally and personally.? states Dr. Perez.

Circulatory Centers President David Gilpatrick is certain that the Atlanta team - under the leadership of Dr. Perez - will offer the same type of high quality patient care that has solidified Circulatory Centers as the leading provider of vein treatment in the Eastern United States over the past 30 years. ?Dr. Perez has built a team dedicated to patient satisfaction. As we continue to grow, it?s critical that we partner with practitioners who share the same vision of making every step of the patient experience ? from the first telephone call through the insurance process, treatment and follow-up ? extremely positive and beneficial.? Dr. Perez? entire Atlanta staff shares this philosophy.?

In 2010, Circulatory Centers providers performed over 30,000 procedures, a 29% increase over 2009. Their documented success rate in eradicating varicose veins has remained at 97% over the past three years and 95% of all treatments are covered by insurance.
