Chocolate Kissed Kids Introduces Product Lines for Kids of Color: New African American Characters Make Their Debut

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 30, 2005

At a time when image and self-esteem are important, young children of color now have new images in the marketplace that reflect their uniqueness, thanks to a new line of products introduced by Chocolate Kissed Kids?.

Chocolate Kissed Kids has launched with gifts and home accessories featuring characters and images from four uniquely designed properties. Created specifically for African American children ages newborn to 12, the four lines are: Chocolate Kissed Princesses?, The Enchanted Land of Umber?, Hip-Hopper Nation? and Chocolate Kissed Dancers?. The products are available online through cafepress.com (http://www.cafepress.com/chockissedkids)

According to the company?s founder, its Chocolate Kissed Princesses are an alternative to the Disney? Princesses line.

?My daughter was always asking for princess products,? said Rhonda Martin, a mother of 5-year old boy/girl twins. ?I know that little girls love the idea of being a princess, but I couldn?t bring myself to buy items that, even in this day and age, featured not a single character that represented my daughter?s heritage or skin color. About two years ago I decided to make it my mission to provide my daughter and all little brown-skinned girls with their own princesses.?

With the names Ayanna, Nyah and Zakia, these beautiful royal sisters are featured on items like posters, pillows, light switch covers, journals, T-shirts and more. From the Princess idea grew the additional lines:

The Enchanted Land of Umber features male and female fairies, elves and pixies and is targeted to new and expecting moms and those with toddlers. These whimsical characters also offer the perfect solution for parents decorating a nursery for boy/girl twins or a space that babies and toddlers share.

The Hip-Hopper Nation line is for young boys but has a cool factor that can be enjoyed by pre-teens as well, and features three urban frogs with a hip-hop attitude.

The Chocolate Kissed Dancers encompass three different images: ?Ballerina Butterfly? for ages 3-9, and ?Beauty in Motion? and ?Jazzy!? for tweens and teens. Each line of dancers is available in four different ?shades of beauty? (Cream, Honey, Mocha and Rich).

Martin, whose public relations background includes work with the National Council of Negro Women, The Quaker Oats Company and McDonald?s, says that her immediate objective is to build awareness of Chocolate Kissed Kids and its images. She plans to license the characters to retailers and manufacturers, particularly focusing on party supplies, bedding and home d?cor, as well as publishing and media. Information on the company and characters can be found at http://www.chocolatekissedkids.com.

?Dreams Come True? -- Disney Precious Collections to be Featured Product at New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) during Disney Retrospective

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 12, 2009

Disney Precious Collections, Fine Disney Jewelry For Children, has been selected as the featured product during Dreams Come True: Art of the Classic Fairy Tales from the Walt Disney Studios, at The New Orleans Museum of Art in New Orleans from November 15, 2009 - March 14, 2010.

This once-in-a-lifetime exhibition, which cannot be seen anywhere else, is set to coincide with the premier of Disney's newest animated feature film, The Princess and the Frog. The exhibition will feature 600 original works instrumental in the development of animated features such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. In addition, there will be artwork from The Princess and the Frog, an animated comedy from the creators of The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. This current version of the princess and the Frog is set in New Orleans during the 1920s Jazz Age, and is due for release Christmas, 2009.

?We are delighted to present this magical exhibition in New Orleans,? said ?NOMA director E. John Bullard. ?Children will love seeing their favorite Disney characters in a museum setting and adults will be taken by the technical skill and emotional depth reflected in these works. It was Disney animators who really led the way in the 20th century toward establishing animation as a serious art form.? The exhibition will also feature a children's section celebrating Disney's connections with jazz music and the Crescent City. The artworks, on loan from the Walt Disney Studio Animation Research Library, will be accompanied by film clips to demonstrate how individual sketches and paintings lead to a finished celluloid masterpiece.

To commemorate the release and exhibit, Disney Precious Collections has produced a limited edition pendant that features the distinctive 3-pointed Princess crown, cherished by little girls all over the world. Crafted in 14KT Gold and fine gemstones, this one-of-a-kind keepsake pendant will be available only at the New Orleans Museum of Art and select Disney Precious Collections retailers.

?We are thrilled to be a part of this unique event and believe strongly in the importance of what Disney has represented to children throughout the years, especially little girls, the true inspiration for the Disney Precious Collections,? says Jack Gindi, Marketing Director of Disney Precious Collections. ?To be featured at such a world renowned venue as the New Orleans Museum of Art and to have our Disney jewelry stand alongside such respected and revered Disney artworks, is a true honor to our team.? Disney Precious Collections features two distinct lines of fine children?s jewelry designed to be treasured gifts for little girls of all ages. ?Because of the emotional significance of the Disney brand and the high-quality of this line, we feel the Disney Precious Collections provides an opportunity for the gift giver to make a lasting impression on a child and in the process create the type of lifelong memory that is so critical in making a girl feel confident, secure and loved.?
