Belasco Theatre Company trains local youth for Cinematic Career

(PRWEB) May 16, 2001

Walnut Creek, CA ? Ryan Meulpoder has been on a stage since he was 5 years old. Now in college at DVC, Ryan has worked in small roles in The Wedding Planner and the upcoming Matrix 2. Although he has come a long way since his tap school days, he looks at his time with director Ed Belasco as a formative stage in his training for his current projects.

?He?s made me much more confident both in my abilities and who I am as a person?, says Ryan. ?Because of Belasco, I am able to express myself much more comfortably.?

Belasco?s unique twist is that he puts on full-length Broadway productions utilizing the talents of children ages 6 through 18. "You won?t find us doing Peter Pan or Charlotte?s Web!" says Belasco. "My kids do the real thing, and they do it like professionals. These kids can sing with the best of them, act and dance ? and I always have the best people in the business for them to work with ? like Lawrence Pech, the Director of the Lawrence Pech Dance Company, as our choreographer ? he?s the greatest!"

Ryan started his career in the spotlight at age 5 with an accomplished jazz education. Switching to drama in High School he read about an audition that the Belasco Theatre Company was having for the part of Danny in Grease. After Grease, Ryan worked with Belasco in The Wiz, Guys and Dolls, A Chorus Line, and Little Shop of Horrors.

Now at Diablo Valley College, Ryan has continued his career in theatre with performances in Hair, Kiss me Kate, and Man of La Mancha. Getting to work with many directors and styles makes him thankful for his Belasco experience. ?Ed sees the potential in people and pushes them to succeed, he doesn?t baby you or sugar coat it. It?s tough love, but it makes you the best.?

About the Belasco Theatre Company

Founded in 1981, the Belasco Theatre Company produces Broadway quality adult musicals with a cast aged 6-18. Unlike many "children's theatre" organizations that do shows like "Peter Pan" and "the Princess and the Pea", Belasco prides itself on doing shows like "Guys and Dolls", "Oklahoma", and "Grease". With professional choreography, costumes, and music, director Ed Belasco spares no expense in producing the best. Company Finds Creative Use For OxBlue? Construction Time-Lapse Videos

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) December 01, 2011

The mission of TechnoFrolics is to bring beauty, excitement and playfulness to science and technology. The company?s patented technology enables the creative, interactive exploration of any video content, including high-resolution time-lapse footage. However, when the company was searching for high-resolution time-lapse construction footage, they found a lack of readily available material. That was until they learned about the capabilities of OxBlue's extreme resolution construction camera service.

OxBlue's unique technology is used by construction contractors and owners to create a visual archive of virtually every moment of construction. The company's technology can also be used to produce stunning time-lapse videos of projects for presentation and detailed analysis of project performance. OxBlue's high-resolution time-lapse photography has now been combined with TechnoFrolics Spin Browser? technology to create an exciting new traveling exhibit aimed at educating children.

?We?re excited to show everyone just how creative you can be with our time-lapse construction camera system,? said Chandler McCormack, President of OxBlue.? OxBlue is well-known within the construction industry for its high-resolution time-lapse image capabilities, which are used to help companies understand new ways to improve their construction projects. ?This has been a unique opportunity to use our technology to educate and inspire children in a very visual way,? states McCormack.

Known as Bob the Builder, the display teaches children about the dynamics of construction and how things are made. Visitors to the exhibit can watch time-lapse video of various construction projects. They can speed up or slow down the videos with Spin Browser? video explorer, an interactive technology developed by TechnoFrolics.

The display recently ran through September 2011 at the Miami Children?s Museum. According to Mike Neufeld, Director of Exhibitions at the museum, future plans include a ?construction zone? at the museum, a permanent exhibit that will include a bulldozer mock-up that enables a child to sit in the bulldozer, view a monitor and view time-lapse construction videos. ?This is a really unique adaptation of our construction cameras, and we're inspired,? said McCormack.
