Robin Fleck, M.D and her staff worked alongside the Prescott, Arizona, Costco Corporation this past May to participate in the Children?s Miracle Network Fundraiser for the third year in a row. The event gives local businesses the opportunity to meet Costco customers while they shop, serving the Phoenix Children?s Hospital at the same time.
The Children?s Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for the Phoenix Children?s Hospital. Each year the hospital provides the finest in children?s medical care, life-saving research and preventative education to help many overcome a multitude of injuries and diseases. This fundraiser lets businesses contribute to a great cause while also being able to educate a diverse group of people.
At this event, Vein Specialties set up an on-site examination area where Dr. Fleck was able to answer questions about varicose vein treatments, such as endovenous laser treatment or EVLA and sclerotherapy, while also assessing a person?s need for treatment. ?Getting out into our community and meeting new people at health fairs like this has made a difference in how I run my own practice,? Robin Fleck stated. ?I have the chance to meet many people in a few hours' time and see exactly what the public is looking for in quality health care.? Many people are unaware of the severity and potential health risks that varicose veins represent, including leg ulcers and blood clots. This venue made it possible for Costco customers to approach Dr. Fleck with questions and concerns about their varicose veins and spider veins and also learn about the new advances in minimally invasive procedures which she administers at Vein Specialties.
Dr. Fleck?s cosmetic medical spa, Body Oasis Laser Aesthetics, was represented by two of her licensed laser technicians who distributed free samples of skin care products and gave advice on proper skin care and sun protection. ?Being able to speak face to face about the laser treatments we offer was very beneficial,? remarked Maureen Brogan, spa coordinator and laser technician. ?A lot of people don?t realize what laser treatments can accomplish with minimal downtime, such as correcting sun damaged skin or wrinkles. Before and after pictures are taken in our office so they can see the results right there.? Body Oasis also provides clients with a free consultation using the Visia computerized skin analysis system, helping clients see which laser treatment would best suit their needs.
The laser treatments offered at Body Oasis give clients the option of treating their aesthetic concerns without having to undergo cosmetic surgery. ?We are able to treat the delicate skin around the eyes to repair dark under-eye circles or even baggy eyelids,? commented Lisa Ramirez, laser technician at Body Oasis. ?We tell our clients that if they give us 5 days, we can give them back 5 years without having a facelift.? Other laser treatments available at Body Oasis focus on removing age spots, fine lines, acne scarring, and even hair removal.
?When speaking to the consumer, being knowledgeable about all aspects of the lasers we carry is the key,? Lisa Ramirez noted. ?We explain to a client how the laser works, as well as what to expect. This puts them at ease and lets them appreciate the amazing results.? The event supplied the platform for Body Oasis to target individuals who may not have been aware of the advantages of laser treatments, such as skin tightening and treating skin disorders like rosacea. ?When people learned we provide tattoo removal, they started to tell us stories about the ?regret? tattoos they have,? noted Lisa. ?This kind of event provides us with the chance to educate the public and tell them a little bit about what we do, while also helping the Children?s Miracle Network.?
Maureen Brogan delighted in telling people about the ActiveFX fractional resurfacing laser, having undergone treatment herself three years ago for dark circles under her eyes. ?People are thrilled when they see the results,? Maureen said. ?Active FX laser yields remarkable, long lasting results with just one treatment.? Maureen and Lisa, along with Deirdre Morris, administrative assistant for Southwest Skin and Cancer Institute, took time to inform potential clients about the dermatological services we provide. ?People love that our practice offers so many different services.? Maureen stated. ?We?re a one stop shopping convenience for our clients and they appreciate that. Whether it?s screening for skin cancer, evaluation of varicose veins or cosmetic treatment with dermal fillers like Restylane or Juvederm, if it has to do with skin, we have the training and experience to ensure you optimal results.?
Vein Specialties, Body Oasis Laser Aesthetics, and Southwest Skin and Cancer Institute would like to thank Costco for the opportunity to participate in this event, as well as extend a welcome to those that missed the fundraiser to call and speak with one of our experienced staff members about any of your skin care needs.
